President Hakainde Hichilema mourns Dandy Krazy
President Hakainde Hichilema has joined the nation in mourning the loss of celebrated Zambian musician Wesley Chibambo, popularly known as Dandy Crazy. The renowned artiste succumbed to injuries sustained in a road traffic accident on New Year’s Eve.
The accident, which occurred near Kapiri on the Great North Road, claimed the lives of four others: Makofi Humphrey, Christopher Muyembe, and two individuals yet to be identified. Chibambo was rushed to Kabwe Central Hospital and later transferred to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) for further treatment.
Despite undergoing emergency brain surgery, his condition remained critical until his passing at 01:42 hours this morning, as announced by UTH Adult Hospital Public Relations Officer Nzeba Chanda.
President Hichilema paid tribute to Dandy Crazy’s profound impact on the music industry and the lives of many. “His music touched hearts far and wide, and his charisma transcended boundaries, bringing people together,” the President said.
In a statement, President Hichilema expressed his deepest condolences to Chibambo’s family and fans, saying, “Our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones during this difficult time. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
